The Surf Foil World Tour is heading to Dakhla, Morocco, for the second Surf Foil World Cup event of the 2026 season.
Following the season opener in Tahiti, some of the world’s leading surf foil riders will make their way to the Moroccan coast this October, where Dakhla’s long Atlantic swell and famous point breaks will provide the next battleground for valuable World Championship points.
Surf Foil Racing Returns to Dakhla
The event will feature both SFT Surf Foil Prone and SFT Surf Foil Assist, bringing two of the fastest-growing disciplines in surf foiling together at one of the sport’s most established international venues.
Dakhla has become a major destination for foiling and wind sports, with the Atlantic side of the peninsula delivering open-ocean swell while the protected lagoon offers completely different conditions just a short distance away.
For surf foiling, the combination of long waves, open faces and consistent swell provides riders with the opportunity to link sections and push both speed and technical riding.
Surf Foil and Wing Foil Come Together
The SFT competition will run alongside the GWA Wingfoil World Tour, bringing several of foiling’s biggest disciplines together for a major week of competition.
The Dakhla stop will also see the GWA Wingfoil Wave World Champions crowned, adding even more significance to the event.
With both surf foil and wing foil competition taking place, Dakhla is set to become one of the main focal points of the international foil scene this October.
Why Dakhla?
Few locations offer a backdrop quite like Dakhla.
Sitting between the Atlantic Ocean and the desert, the region has developed an international reputation for surfing, kitesurfing, wing foiling and hydrofoiling. Its exposed Atlantic coastline receives ocean swell, while the peninsula creates a huge protected lagoon on the opposite side.
October falls within Dakhla's established wind-sports season, and the combination of waves, wind and warm climate has helped make the region a regular stop for international watersports competition.
The event is supported by Armstrong Foils and Duotone.
